Program FAQs

If you're new to the Crunched Education Program or looking for new simulations for your class, this guide will help you learn more about the program and its features.

Simulations

How long do the simulations take to complete?

On average, our simulations take between 6-14 hours which equates to about 2 weeks of class time depending on how long your classes are and how often you meet per week.

How can I demo a simulation?

To demo one of our simulations, request a demo and a team member will contact you to successfully deliver a simulation packet and login credentials.

Are the simulations computerized or manual?

All simulations are a mixture of both. Each student receives a hard copy simulation packet with various source documents and utilizes the Crunched Cloud Accounting Software to navigate through the simulation.

How do I grade my students reports?

We recommend utilizing Google Classroom to have your students upload their reports into the different assignments. If you do not utilize Google Classroom, you can have your students print their reports. From there, you will receive the answer keys and a grading rubric to track your students understanding of the topics.

Note: Google Classroom is not required.

Are the simulation packets updated each year?

We do release updated versions of our simulations each year with new numbers to constantly change the answers for new students.

How do I know which login is assigned to each student?

In the CEP Welcome Packet, you will receive a class roster sheet with all of your assigned login credentials. Simply pass out the simulation packets and note the students name in the correct column next to the packet ID.

How do I order simulations for my class?

Schedule a call with one of our account executives to decide which plan is right for you and talk about the next steps to take to purchase the Crunched Education Program simulations for your classes.

How can the simulation be incorporated into my curriculum?

Our simulations are designed to fit within your teaching style and be an addition into your curriculum. Many teachers utilize the program at the end of the year as a final recap. However, teachers also utilize the simulations as a midterm, class long project, or even a recap at the start of the new year.

What topics are covered in the simulations?

We have worked hard with business education departments to be sure that our simulations align with the core standards for each class subject and level.

How do I know if my students successfully completed the simulation?

You will be provided with a grading structure and rubric to assist in measuring the outcome of the students work. You will also be provided with answer keys to check against the students final recap.

Do the students get to keep the simulation packets?

Our Annual plan provides each student with their own personal simulation packet to keep at the end of the program. Their login credentials will also remain active after completing the program if the student wanted to access the software at another time.

Note: Our License plan requires students to turn in their simulation packet at the end of the program.

Can you reuse the login credentials after the class is completed?

All students are required to have their own software license and these licenses can not be used by multiple students or reused after the program has been started.

Technical

What type of hardware is required?

The Crunched Education Program simulations can be accessed from any computer on any main web browser.

Note: The Crunched Cloud Accounting Software is currently not compatible with iPads and other tablets.

Do I have to provide student information?

No, we do not ask for or collect any personal information. All of our simulations are fictitious and the student logins are all randomly generated internally.

Do we have to install the software on our computers?

No, there is nothing to install and no IT department required. The Crunched Cloud Accounting Software is 100% cloud based and accessible from any main web browser.

Do we need to have internet access?

Yes, each student will need a computer with internet access to successfully utilize the Crunched Education Program simulations.

How do I contact support?

What if my student loses their source documents?

Once you receive your program materials, you will be given access to our Teacher Portal. Here you will be able to download additional source documents as well as additional teacher resources.

What if I have unused simulation packets at the end of the year?

If you have chosen our Annual plan and end up with unused simulation packets at the end of the year, you can send them back to us and we will apply a credit towards your next order.

Note: This does not apply to the License plan.

What if I can't access the software?

If you aren't able to access the software, please contact us immediately so we can work with your IT department to be sure there are no firewalls and blockers preventing access to the Crunched software.

How long do the materials typically take to get delivered after order?

Orders are typically processed within 24 hours after receiving a PO or payment and then shipped out within 24 hours of the order being processed. The total turn around time is typically within 48 hours.

What if my students login information isn't working?

If your student is receiving an error message stating their username or password is incorrect, please check their simulation packet ID with your class roster sheet to be sure all characters are getting entered correctly. If the student is still unable to login, please contact support at (617) 960-0778 ext. 3 or notify your account executive right away.

Pricing

What is the cost of the simulation?

We currently offer two plan types with 1, 3, and 5 year options.

Plan 1 - Annual Plan
This plan allows each student to receive their own simulation packet to keep at the end of the program.

Plan 2 - License Plan
This plan allows the simulation packets to be reused year after year like textbooks.

Are there longer term discounted plans available?

Yes, we offer 3 and 5 year discounted options for both of our plan types. Request Pricing to learn more about our different plans and options.

Can I purchase additional books if my class grows in size?

Yes, you can always purchase more simulation packets if your class grows at any point. If you have purchased a 3 or 5 year plan, then the discounted packet price will be honored.

Do you qualify for the Perkins grant?

Yes, all of our simulations qualify for funding in accordance with section 135 of Perkins V Act. To learn more about the Perkins V Act, check out the Perkins V Website or we recommend working with your school and your district to learn more about the application process.

Do you offer pricing packages for multiple simulations?

Yes, we do offer various pricing options and packages when purchasing multiple Crunched Education Program simulations. To learn more about our different packages, Schedule a Call with one of our account executives.
