Perfect final project
I implemented Brooke's Books as a Final Project for the quarter. It worked out perfectly because I was available to help with questions and check their work at each checkpoint. My students were very excited to apply what they had learned for the first time. I received several comments about concepts starting to "click" and how some who were still hesitant about a career in accounting are now feeling more confident. The Crunched Education Program is fun, easy and realistic!

Level of difficulty right where it should be
I used the simulations as an end-of-semester class project and was excited to give the students a hands on accounting experience. The Intro sim was good, and the level of difficulty was right where it should be. My only issue (and this is probably an issue with ALL simulations like this) is that if a student makes one mistake, they are screwed up for the rest of the simulation, and it's really hard to find out where the mistake even is.

No setup on the teacher's part
I worked with the Century 21 simulation before and it was very difficult to get setup and share with students. With Brooke's Books, I really liked the ease of the instructions, no setup on the teacher's part, and the realistic business scenario. My favorite part of the program was seeing the students create a financial statement by clicking a button instead of writing everything out but also unerstanding what the part of the financial statement all meant.

Much more engaged
We did the simulation together as a class. I modeled mine on the smart board while students in class and at home completed it along with me. I liked how I could integrate (Google) classroom by having them submit reports that they created. I thought the simulation was excellent and I look forward to continuing this for years to come until I retire.

Perfect solution

User-friendly

Real life experience
When I came accross Brooke's Books, I thought it was the perfect pairing with what we cover in our Intro Accounting class. I wanted something High School students could navigate that incorporated the course of study standards. Great for remote learning
My plan was to make it an end-of-semester class project. However, due to Covid-19, it turned into a longer individual project. The simulation worked very well for remote learning and the team was very professional and reponsive throughout the program.
